Product Information
The NTM SenseH2® Hydrogen sensor is a robust sensor designed for hydrogen monitoring. The NTM SenseH2® can be used in a variety of applications and has key features that sets it apart from other commercial sensors and makes it well suited for your application:
Accurate: Highly sensitive to hydrogen, yet insensitive to carbon monoxide, methane and other flammable gases, making the sensor well suited for a wide range of environments.
Stable: The sensor will not be affected by humidity, temperature and flow rate variation.
Rapid: Response and rapid recovery times allowing measurement of transient leaks, and lead detection without false positives.
Durable: Waterproof automotive grade connector providing a robust sensor with a common interface. No calibration is needed to insure action for specific LFL limit.
| Metric | NTM SenseH2® | Competition | Comments |
| Response Time, t90 | 5 sec. | Our analysis indicate that some sensors take as long as 3 hours | Quick recovery is especially desirable if there is a potential hydrogen exposure during refueling |
| Recovery Time, t90 | 5 sec. | EZT3HYE: 70 sec HY-ALERTA: 60 sec |
Particularly important during functionality tests |
| Minimum Operating Temperature | -20°C | TGS 6812: -10°C | Our sensor is well suited for operating in a wide range of temperature and humidity and well suited for handling various environments |
| Maximum Operating Temperature | 80°C | EZT3HYE: 50°C HY-ALERTA: 40°C |
|
| Relative Humidity Range | 5-95% | HLS-440 is not accurate at high temp. and humidity; Some others must be adjusted for humidity | |
| Cross sensitivity to other combustible gas | None | Most "hydrogen sensors" are combustible gas sensors and will react to methane, carbon monoxide and fuel vapors | Combustible gas sensors can cause false alarms in the presence of carbon monoxide and other hydrocarbons generated from sources such as internal combustion engines |
| Silicone tolerance | Yes | Most sensors are poisoned by silicone | Many hoses and gaskets within products often off-gas silicone which can damage most sensors |
| UL classification | UL/ATEX classification to 60079-0/-15 standard for normal and hazardous locations | Most sensors do not have UL classifications | Facilitates gaining overall approval of OEM products for markets that require a UL/ATEX /CE Certification. |
| Electromagnetic compatibility compliance | EMC Compliance to EN12895:2000 (Industrial truck) & EN61326-1:2006 | Most sensors do not have EMC compliance | The sensor will not cause electrical interference with other devices or equipment |
| Flow sensitivity | Calibration valid from 0.02-5.00 m/s |
Most sensors show significant sensitivity to flow. | Accurate and reliable hydrogen sensing capability at all Flow rates. |
